The PrEP IMPACT trial has now closed to recruitment. We will be undertaking final appointments for those in the study. We are able to provide an interim supply of PrEP for those in the study until it becomes routinely available.
We will be in touch with you to arrange your final study visit.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation we are not able to run our routine PrEP appointments. We are therefore planning to run a remote service using postal testing to support our patients participating in the IMPACT PrEP trial. We will be in touch by text message before your appointment is due.
With the current social distancing guidance we recognise many of you will no longer be sexually active and may choose to stop taking PrEP during this time. For advice on stopping and starting PrEP visit https://www.iwantprepnow.co.uk/how-to-take-prep/
For those who are taking PrEP, we recommend a test every three months and most importantly an HIV test.
We can offer postal testing to service users of the areas we cover including Liverpool, Knowsley, Halton, Warrington & Cheshire East. For our study participants in other areas we would ask you to order a postal testing kit from your local sexual health service. We will then post your medication out to you. Please see below for links to where you can order a test.
If you are unable to acquire a free home testing kit in your local area, it may be possible to get a free HIV test from www.freetesting.hiv. If this is not possible, you can get a HIV test from the Terrence Higgins Trust for minimal cost at:
Liverpool, Knowsley, Warrington, Halton, Cheshire East
Cheshire West and Chester
No postal testing available - please contact us for a test kit
Salford & Bolton
Full postal testing is currently suspended but a free HIV test can be ordered from https://freetesting.hiv/
Please search for your local service or contact us for a test kit
