The kit includes tools such as fidget toys, ear defenders and soothing lights which can be used to create a calming environment for those with sensory issues.
Martina Sheelan, Sexual Health and Community HIV Outpatients Service Lead, said: "We are so proud to begin providing The Sunflower Project at our clinics. At axess, we're always looking for ways we can innovate to make our clinics accessible and welcoming to all. We hope that the launch of The Sunflower Project will make our patients with sensory issues feel supported coming to our clinics."
Laura Rose, Service Coordinator, said: "Everyone deserves to feel at ease when accessing sexual health services. Providing sensory equipment in all our clinics helps us to create a more welcoming environment for neurodiverse and anxious patients, and reflects our commitment to delivering care that truly meets people where they are."
Axess sexual health is launching The Sunflower Project to coincide with Neurodiversity Celebration Week, which begins on 16 March.
If you think you would benefit from using any of the equipment listed, please speak to a member of our Reception Team when you visit our clinics.
